Learning Objectives for PRE-K & K

  1. Arabic:
    • Read Arabic Alphabet.
    • Make Alphabet sounds.
    • Read single-digit Eastern-Arabic numerals.
    • Comprehend a list of daily vocabulary words.
  2. Islamic Studies:
    • Recognize the five pillars of Islam.
    • Learn selected list of daily prayers/supplications.
    • Recognize the outline story of creation.
    • Recognize the outline biography of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
    • Recognize that Islam is an Abrahamic religion.
    • Recognize that Judaism and Christianity are also Abrahamic religions and that all three religions originally worshipped the same God.
  3. Quran | Pre-K:
    • Introduce students to recitation (tajweed) rules.
    • Memorize Chapter 1, The Opening (Al-Fatiha), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 112, Sincerity (Al-Ikhlaas), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 113, The Dawn (Al-Falaq), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 114, Mankind (An-Naas), by heart.
  4. Quran | K:
    • Memorize Chapter 102, Competition (At-Takaathur), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 103, The Declining Day, Epoch (Al-Asr), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 104, The Traducer (Al-Humaza), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 105, The Elephant (Al-Fil), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 106, Quraish (Quraysh), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 107, Almsgiving (Al-Maa'un), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 108, Abundance (Al-Kawthar), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 109, The Disbelievers (Al-Kaafiroon), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 110, Divine Support (An-Nasr), by heart.
    • Memorize Chapter 111, The Palm Fibre (Al-Masad), by heart.

    Recitation is taught according to proper recitation (tajweed) rules.

Please note that the above learning outcomes are for students who start at the beginning of the school year in Pre-K and continue their studies until the end of the school year in K.
